Product Manager
Our linear and torque motors are built into machines that make chips, produce medicines and drive robots. You decide which motors will be added to that line-up in the years ahead, and you keep the ones already out there growing. From the first roadmap and the product launch through to end-of-life.
What will you do?
You will join our Application & Product Management team in Almelo. While your colleagues focus on applications, integration or other product lines, you own one specific group of motors within our portfolio. You operate between our international sales offices, the application engineers, R&D and marketing, and you are the go-to person on your product group for all of them. The role has two sides, and you are comfortable with both: developing and managing.
Developing: growing your product group
- You manage the roadmap for your product group and align it with our platform strategy and with what the market is asking for.
- Together with the application engineers, you translate customer and market requirements into clear product specifications (PRDs) that R&D can work with.
- You follow developments in our markets – machine concepts, technological breakthroughs and their effect on mechatronic systems – keep track of what competitors are doing, and turn that insight into opportunities for our catalogue.
- You define product-market combinations and bring new products to market, from pilot customers through to launch and trade fairs, both inside and outside Tecnotion.
Managing: keeping the life cycle of your products in order
- You manage the product life cycle of your product group: product changes, end-of-life, forecasts per product series and pricing policy.
- You safeguard standards, guidelines and product documentation, and you are the point of contact for sales engineers and key accounts worldwide whenever they have questions about your motors.
What we are looking for:
- A completed bachelor's or master's degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physics or a comparable field. Industrial engineering and management also qualifies.
- Three to five years of experience in product management, application engineering or a comparable technical B2B role in motion control or high-tech machine building.
- Knowledge of, or a strong affinity with, direct drive, servo motors, electromagnetism and precision engineering.
- You think analytically and in terms of processes, and you work towards results: you turn scattered requirements into a plan that R&D can build and sales can sell.
- A good command of English, both spoken and written; Dutch and German are an advantage.
- You are willing to travel four to six times a year, to customers, trade fairs and our production sites.
At Tecnotion, everything revolves around progress, quality and teamwork. Keen to join us, but you do not tick every box? That is no problem. We would still like to hear from you, so we can look at the possibilities together.
What we offer:
The scope to realise your personal growth and ambitions, on the basis of a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position. Competitive primary and secondary employment conditions under the Dutch Metalektro collective labour agreement (CAO Metalektro), including 27 days of annual leave and 13 additional days off (ADV), an 8.33% year-end bonus and an 8% holiday allowance.
