Tecnotion

Tecnotion's question library

Mustafa Oruc

Mustafa's story at Tecnotion begins as a holiday worker in 1995 and quickly grows into a fascinating journey through various facets of the company.

After eight weeks working as a flying goalie, Mustafa continues his journey at Tecnotion when a colleague in the winding department drops out due to a broken arm. In an apprenticeship, Mustafa soon finds himself full-time in the measuring room, where he develops his technical skills as a measurement technician. In the evenings, he attends panel construction training, a testament to his commitment to continuous growth.

Mustafa's duties initially include entry checks, intermediate measurements and final checks. Gradually, his responsibilities expand, including the calibration of measuring equipment. His versatility and commitment lead to him being sent to China in 2010. There, he spearheads the quality department, shares his knowledge in courses on gluing and soldering, and certifies his Chinese colleagues.

Back in the Netherlands in 2012, Mustafa returns to Tecnotion's specials department. Here, he balances his time between his desk, where he deals with (process) checks, calibrations, complaints and audits, and the production floor, where his presence is invaluable.

Asked about his favourite memories, Mustafa lights up at the thought of the time he spent in China, where he was involved in setting up the quality department. A period he cherishes as a highlight of his career.

Proudly, Mustafa looks at his role as a walking encyclopaedia of Tecnotion products. Colleagues can always count on him as a source of questions, and knowing every product is a personal triumph for him.

Mustafa describes the culture within Tecnotion as warm, open and full of opportunities. He has a wise lesson for newcomers: approach your colleagues in a way that suits them, because that is the key to effective cooperation.

Asked about Tecnotion's future, Mustafa exudes optimism. "There is a lot of work coming up, which will be quite a challenge" he concludes with a smile.

Eye for quality

Working together for a safe working environment

Niek is HSE Officer at Tecnotion, where his daily responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of all employees. He instructs new employees on health and safety, supervises investigations relating to physical strain and hazardous substances, among other things, and ensures communication on this between different layers within the organisation. Workplace inspections, providing input for rules and guidelines in the staff handbook and supervising the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) are also part of his daily tasks.

Niek joined Tecnotion in November 2017, where he started as Quality Officer on a project to improve work instructions for the shop floor. This later moved to identifying and resolving customer complaints about quality issues. Since 2021, he has taken on the role of HSE Officer.

What Niek finds most interesting and challenging about his job is the contact with different layers within Tecnotion. Working together to reach solutions and create a safer working environment. The good atmosphere with colleagues is also a pleasant aspect of his job.

Niek doesn't really know a typical working day. He has several ongoing projects, including the RI&E, workplace inspections and the mapping and updating of hazardous substances within the organisation.

One project Niek is particularly proud of is the hazardous substances project. Here, he thoroughly mapped out all substances, providing insight into the risks and making it possible to work more safely. Moreover, he succeeded in reducing the use of hazardous substances and finding alternatives.

Tecnotion also offers Niek the chance to participate in audits in the field of quality processes, allowing him to continue to develop professionally. He describes the corporate culture at Tecnotion as open and familiar. Niek appreciates that everyone is always willing to answer questions and the door is always open.

Teamwork makes the dream work

Levon's career development at Tecnotion

I have worked at Tecnotion since 2006, starting in the magnets department, then building Ironless motors and now working as a Line Engineer building prototypes. What I find most fascinating about my role is working on new ideas and products, which means I am always challenged and have plenty of room for creativity.

The corporate culture at Tecnotion is warm and family-oriented, where openness, collaboration and breaking down barriers are key, making it an attractive place to work for me.

My weekly routine usually consists of project meetings with the team, which give me a clear direction for the days ahead. Then I am busy building prototypes and operating the laser welding machine for vacuum projects. The process of developing new products is always exciting, and I enjoy making the first motors for challenging projects.

One achievement I am particularly proud of is my contribution to the G1 vacuum motor. Together, we achieved great results. It gave me a sense of satisfaction to be involved in creating innovative solutions and to see how our work helped the company move forward.

Close collaboration with colleagues and other teams is crucial in my role. We share knowledge, work together harmoniously and help each other when needed. This sense of cooperation allows us to work more effectively and efficiently as a team, which ultimately promotes the company's success.

Tecnotion offers a range of opportunities for professional development and growth. I have attended various trainings and courses, including: drawing reading, soldering course, gluing course, BHV, 2-year training (electronics).

What motivates me every day to come to work and give my best is my passion for what I do. The idea of being involved in the development of new products and creating innovative solutions gives me energy and desire to give my all.

As advice to new employees who want to work in a similar role, I would recommend always being open to new challenges, keep learning and developing yourself. Collaboration with colleagues and sharing knowledge are essential for success, so don't be afraid to ask for help and enjoy the fun of working in a close-knit team. Tecnotion is a great place to work, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had here to grow and pursue my passion.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression!

Laurie's introduction to Tecnotion

What attracted you to apply to Tecnotion?
When Tecnotion approached me for the position of Application Engineer, it was the job description that caught my attention. At that time, I already had other interviews ongoing, but I still wanted to visit Tecnotion as well.

What was the application process like and how did you interact with the recruitment team?
The application process went well and everyone was very friendly. The recruitment team also checked with me after each interview to see how it went. This left a good impression on me.

What are your first impressions of the working environment and corporate culture at Tecnotion?
When I first visited Tecnotion, I really liked the open atmosphere in the office. This also makes everyone very approachable.

What is your experience with the onboarding process and the support you received to get up to speed quickly?

What appeals to me most about my job is the variety of work. I work with Engineering, Sales and Marketing departments among others which makes every day different.

Freedom and responsibility

My name is Dennis Büter, I am 27 years old and born and raised in Almelo. I have enjoyed working at Tecnotion for three years now. Before I started here, I followed MBO and HBO courses in mechanical engineering at the ROC van Twente in Hengelo and Saxion in Enschede. When I was looking for a graduation project for my HBO study, I first came across Tecnotion. I must admit that the company did not immediately appeal to me because I was more interested in companies in big clunky mechanical engineering rather than electrical and fine mechatronics. Nevertheless, I chose to do a graduation project at Tecnotion because the assignment was pure mechanical engineering.

I worked on the entire assignment from A to Z: preliminary research, design, construction and testing. This was exactly what I was looking for in terms of work: lots of variety and not sitting behind a screen all day.

After graduating, I was offered a job at Tecnotion, which I seized with both hands, because in this position I would also be doing projects with many varied tasks. I also had the feeling that Tecnotion is a growing organisation and how nice it is if you can grow along with it.

I am currently a support engineer in the R&D department. In R&D, you stand at the cradle of the latest developments in product and process design. As a support engineer in our small R&D team, I mainly design, build and test tooling for prototypes or new production processes. It is a good mix of office and practical work, both independently and in a team. One week I spend a lot of time at my computer, the next week I can only be found near a machine. Generally, the work gets mixed up, which creates a lot of hectic activity that makes the days fly by.

One of the things that sets Tecnotion apart is the flexibility in working hours, daily schedules and holiday planning. You get a lot of freedom, which gives you a certain responsibility. You are responsible for your own successes. I can truly say that I am having a great time at Tecnotion and I look forward to what the future holds!
